个人简历
Yangzhong Liu obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2002 from University of Bergen in Norway in Professor Einar Sletten’s group, studying the interaction between anticancer drugs and DNA. He pursued three years postdoctoral research at University of California from 2002 -2005 at Davis, working with Professor Gerd La Mar on the paramagnetic protein NMR. He moved to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and worked on multidimensional NMR on 13C/15N isotope labeled proteins with Professor Chunyu Wang. In October 2006, he returned to the Department of Chemistry at USTC, where he had worked between 1992-1998 after obtaining his master degree from the department.
主要研究方向
Researches in this group focus on the bio-inorganic chemistry, more specifically, the structure of biological molecules and their interaction with inorganic compounds. Currently, this group is studying the solution structure of enzyme Intein and developing their inhibitors, including metal complexes and organic compounds. Another research project in this group is about the interaction between anticancer drugs and DNA, in order to elucidate the mechanism of anticancer drugs, especially those unconventional platinum-based drugs. This study will help the design and synthesis of novel drugs.

Although NMR is the emphasized tool in this group, many other techniques are employed for various research purposes, such as HPLC, ITC, SPR, and electrophoresis. All individuals are encouraged to apply/develop new methods to the research in this group.
